1920s Persian Sarouk Gallery Carpet
This unusually formatted Sarouk carpet has the classic mulberry red field well covered with characteristic interwar floral sprays grouped around a small central quatrefoil based medallion centre. The borders of this c. 1930 interwar long carpet are especially narrow and play a secondary role in the general design scheme. The general condition is thick, solid and long wearing., in other words, excellent.
