Jerusalem Carpet #20817
There was a small production of idiosyncratic carpets from the Bezalel art school in Jerusalem between the wars. This rug was woven horizontally. The light blue field has a triple pole medallion featuring animals and a red border with paired sheep. The tonality is light, nearly pastel, and the pile is quite short. Bezalel rugs of this size are quite rare.
