19th Century Caucasian Moghan Carpet
The extreme southeastern Caucasian weaving area of Moghan specialized in long rugs with allover pattern repeats such as this striking yellow rug with a hexagon lattice enclosing eight point. The ivory border of hooked motives is in character on this c.1890 rug with excellent wool and dyes.
